      É na súa etapa centroamericana, comprendida entre os anos 1940 e 1956, cando o Eugenio Granell se interna con decisión nos espazos do surrealismo e configura con determinación a súa personalidade creativa.
      A través da súa produción artística deste período, realizada en República Dominicana, Guatemala e Puerto Rico, revisitamos a esencia dun labor influenciado pola súa fascinación polas illas: Granell pinta con intensidade, animado polas extraordinarias experiencias visuais, o clima excesivo e as culturas ancestrais do trópico. Son momentos brillantes, fecundos e fundamentais, que sinalarán o inicio do seu traxecto como artista e a conversión ao surrealismo, cambiando radicalmente a forma de ver o mundo.
